Cryo-cooled MCT camera
The Borea employs a rotary Stirling micro-cooler to chill a 640 x 512 pixels HgCdTe FPA down to 77 K. This low temperature produces images with spectacularly low noise levels. The reduced weight and power consumption of Photon etc.’s Stirling micro-coolers make the Borea an ideal candidate for airborne SWIR imaging applications.
The Borea is perfect for airborne applications or when a very high sensitivity is needed due to its:
- Lighter weight
- Lower power consumption
- Lower dark current

The BOREA is being overhauled and is thus unavailable at this time. Please contact us if you want to receive updates on its future availability.
